Sponsored, and administered by MuniSight Ltd., the Municipal Innovation Award is granted to a Municipal Government Administration that has successfully implemented an innovative project, that has made a positive impact on their community.
Each year the award is granted along with a $2,000 charitable donation from MuniSight Ltd., to a charity within the winner's jurisdiction.
Step 1: Ensure that your Municipality meets applicant criteria
Applications to the Municipal Innovation Award is open to Municipalities with the following attributes:
Canadian municipal government; and
Population no greater than 20,000 (as per most recent census).

Step 2: Ensure that your Project meets applicant criteria
Applications to the Municipal Innovation Award must pertain directly to an innovative project that has been recently implemented by the Municipality. Specifically, the project must have been:
innovative in nature; and
fully implemented no longer than 12 months prior to the Application Date.

Step 3: Complete Municipal Innovation Award application
Applications must be submitted through the Municipal Innovation Award website.
Submission opens on May 1, 2020 and the deadline for submission is September 1, 2020.
Step 4: Candidate interview
Once applications have been received and reviewed, the judging committee will schedule a 30-60 minute interview with select Applicants, to learn more about their Applications.
Step 5: Winners annouced
Once the interviews have been completed, and all the projects considered, the winners of the Award will be announced.
Winners will be announced each year on the week of December 1st.
